XML Resources
The W3C may be the official, governing body of XML development,
but there are other sites out there who offer a wide variety of
XML-support. This is by no means meant to be a complete list of
all such sites, but a collection of the ones I most frequently visit
myself.
XML.com
XML.com is, in my opinion, the best XML-related site on the Internet.
The site offers weekly articles covering the latest events in the
development of the XML technology. In addition to this they also
offer weekly transcripts from various XML discussion forums and
mailing lists, but with an emphasis on the XML-DEV list. The site
also contains links to other XML sites and various software resources.
XML.org is in many respects quite similar to XML.com, but the contents
of the site are geared more towords an industrial and commercial
market. This is not in any way a bad thing, but if you are new to
XML, XML.com is probably a better (and easier) place to start. XML.org
is hosted by OASIS (Organization for the Advancement of Structured
Information Standards), which also hosts the XML-DEV mailing list.
Another good XML site. Not quite as detailed in covering XML as
the two other sites mentioned above, but has sections covering other
web technologies like Java and DHTML. Also some very useful links
to other XML resources.
If you start out with one of the above sites, you should be off
to a good start. And, if they do not contain exactly what you are
looking for, chances are they will lead the way to more relevant
sites. For a a more detailed list of XML resources, please check
out the XML Link Page.
